Heart On A Hill

This heart lives on a beautiful river bluff over-looking my brother's house. I like knowing this.

cheezy...

Ian found this little scrap of cheese and said, "A Heart!!"
We laughed. This has clearly gone too far!

Hjärtan från Kullaberg

Ekorrbär
(squirrel berry)
Kullaberg, Sweden

In spring it has a pretty white flower, which in summer turns into a black poisonous berry.

Red heart leaf at Mahkato pow wow

this photo
(and history)
inspired a poem
from friend and poet,
John C. Rezmerski

SOMETHING TORN
for Karen McCall

The leaf is red as a heart
is red
is on ground once red
with blood.
The leaf has been torn
into the shape of a heart
upside down,
unnaturally shaped
by tears.
On the ground
where ceremonies
are drummed.
heartbeats,
handbeats,
beating, to beat,
to have been beaten
is not to have been broken,
but something was broken
to leak these tears,
these torn hearts
grown out of bloody land.

Green hearts floating around a red door
Stone heart from Nyhamnsläge Sweden after its first Minnesota winter
The day after I placed these rocks together, this tiny one appeared. later discovered that it was my son who found it and placed it there.

A heart at my front door and a heart from Java Jack.
It was a lovey day.
